IMAGINE HOW I FEEL...."SpeakingFromKupsy'sMind"

IMAGINE HOW I FEEL……………

There’s this saying, it has to do with how one feels
If your thoughts can be attacked, that can influence how one feels
One can be at the point where one knows but words fail to express how one feels,
Explaining is a waste of time, you couldn't understand what one feels
It’s real when you feel that feeling because there’s a lot out there set out to influence one on how one ought to feel
Would a little more money, more drinks, more this and that leave a lasting favorable impact on how one ought to feel
You need to get your mind right and face what you feel, engage yourself, take up a challenge, overcoming it can give you a good feel to the feel

For a long time coming, only the voices in our heads knows how one really feels
It’s been the main persecutor and comforter at the same time, maybe because it knows how we feel
Our thoughts become our words, habits, values and eventually our destinies, you know our thoughts on how we feel
Feels like one is on the tarmac of life, a little nudge, push and jolt could make one scream out what one really feels

I've been viewing myself as a substance of lack luster for a couple of weeks, imagine how I feel
I've been asking myself when did this feeling get into me, disrupting how I feel
I've tried a lot of vices to curb, change and detour the thoughts on how I feel
Inspirational words, drinking, shopping, smoking non-stop and even having lots of sex to give a reason for how I feel
Non-have worked, still wake up in the morning and that voice reminds me of how I feel
Can’t believe this is real, never thought I could feel the way I feel

For a couple of weeks now, only the voice in my head knows how I feel
It’s been the main persecutor and comforter at the same time, maybe because it knows how I feel
My thoughts become my words, then habits, values eventually my destiny, you know my thoughts on how I feel
I've got to get my act right on, can’t falter, can’t give up and must proceed regardless of how I feel

Only the voice in my head knows how I feel
Only the voice in my head knows how I feel
Only the voice in my head knows how I feel

Only the voice in my head knows how I feel.

BEFORE I BECOME A SENATOR......!!!

Not my making just a futuristic inkling
Politics is not my game
But might find myself in same
Though a little dirty, hope not to end up in shame
Corruption is a sweet virus;
They all fly abroad having their holidays in Cyprus
Even though i like the money, i won’t be cunning like Hon. Lawan and Senator Ete
Even though i love young beauties but i won’t be a paedophile like Senator Yerima
Acts that is scandalous, absolutely ridiculous
My mama thought me well
Instilling values, discipline and integrity to uphold
My woman will be my strong pillar, supporting me with prayers and love for my home
Even if i end up having a shoeless and clueless head
Kind that plans on giving mobile phones to farmers
I will stand for the truth and forge ahead
Making my constituency consequential and my nation essential
Saying Hi and Nay where it matters, so to make my country greater

Before i become a senator, Voices heard from the creator
Want you to know I’m a professional Estate Surveyor
C.E.O of Bishop & Knights, a priority closely on my mind
Though i write a little in my leisure
And listen to music for my pleasure
A goal getter though a slow pacing nature
Always i use my church mind Cus I’m one of a kind
I’m the Preachers son, trying to catch a little fun
Just like the thriller in manila
I always have my finger on the trigger

Before i become a Senator
Hold me, hug me, kiss me, and please me
Be my elevator, be my motivation.

MUSHIN...!!!

Mushin in my blood, it is where I was born
The lifestyle, the culture like a shirt I’ve worn
As a kid I was exposed to violence and porn
Fearless and desperate, taking the bull by the horn
Densely populated, dominated by thugs
Here, we chop knuckles we don’t give hugs.

Prostitutes half-naked, parading our streets
As a kid, I would watch lick my lips without a sweet
Few churches, few mosques, more hotels and bars
Street-fighting, bottle-breaking, boys are kept behind bars
Many streets untarred, full of retards
Children treat adults with no regards
Street-hawking, child-labour haunt the little minds
Parents want to survive so they never mind.

Gun-shots every night, we all live in fear
Police pose with armour-tanks with enough gas to tear
Every junction, every corner, boys are smoking weed
Teenage girls warming beds just to meet their need
On sanitations, we play football on the streets
No jerseys, no boots we tackle hard with our feet
2Face from  Festac, 9ice from Bariga
We are proud of our own Alabi Pasuma

Now the change has come, guys are back to school
Violence has disappeared, everywhere is cool
Teenage girls quit flirting, they keep their pride
They are getting married, guys make them their bride
Being born here is a blessing and not a curse
I’m proud of my hood, I don’t know about yours

#WarOfWords - They were all lies by Titilayo Mabogunje

This babe dey flow o,
and no be small yarn she yarn.
Guess what,
she is just sixteen,
but flows way past her age.
Deep words from a young mind,
words that can give sight to the blind.
She is definitely one for the future.

War Of Words - They were all lies by Titilayo Mabogunje

Let me tell you a story
Of a girl I once knew
About fifty or sixty years ago,
She was just born and literally brand new.

So men came to take advantage of her
They said "Lean on me,"
They said "Trust me, believe me,
" 'Cause you can be free with me."

Now, indirectly what happened was,
They found another way to say
"Hmm, this girl is beautiful,
"Why don't you give all your money to me?"

Naïve she was, she believed them.
She unfortunately lost control.
And one by one they left her.
And bit by bit she lost what made her renown.

Now if she only opened her eyes
She would realize
She was no bride,
That there was no prize,
'Cause they were all lies,
She had been taken for a ride
So tears filled her eyes
Every day and every night
Like a thorn in her side,
Everything that had been right,
She threw away to the night
But now, she tries to fight.

Now she is thinking "How can I right my wrong?
How can I fill up a cup that is already gone?
How can I think of a melody when there is no song?
Why did I stray from the path I started on?
She closed her eyes
If just for a while.
She thought back into the past
Of the people who were most vile.

It was her own family,
Her very own friends
The ones she held close
Are the ones that held her fate in their hands.

The ones who now mock her, tease her,
They used to treat her, pet her,
But now they are sick, tired and fed up of her.

They'll say nothing good can ever come out of her
Her own people will be the first to shame her.
But when they need oil to fuel their cars,
That's when you'll see them going to her.

However, my story isn't over.
When they eat and are full,
That's when they forget her.

They'll say "She's not my sister,
"I'm not related to her."
They'll say "Why are you asking me?
"It's not as if I know her."

What a wicked family
That throw rubbish all over her bruised body.
Look at the streets around you, they aren't clean.
That shows how wicked we can be.

So to answer the questions
Who is her family? Who are her friends?
You needn't search any further than
Who you see through your glass lens.

Because the culprits here are you and me.
It's the truth, or don't you see?
We are the ones bad mouthing Nigeria.
We are the ones who litter the area.

We are the ones who give her a bad name,
Ruin her fame, Put her to shame.
When someone asks us where we are from,
We don't even want to call her name.

You think you're helping your country
But you're really just setting her up.
When you say all these negative things about her,
How can it bring anything but bad luck?

Honesty stands and knocks at the door,
But bribery enters in.
When there is no noble man,
How won't corruption win?

When tribes keep on fighting;
Igbos against Yorubas against Hausas
We all claim to love one another
But if there were unity, why are we not together?

So if you really want a country
For your children and their children to see,
Let us come together to stop hypocrisy
Start love and charity,
Be proud of our nationality
And endeavor to practice transparency.

So next time you have a problem,
Don't say "Watin Jonathan de do?"
Let's stop looking up there
And start looking at me and at you.

We have been given this fertile land,
A land flowing with milk and honey
And it isn't for one man alone;
It's not for only you or only me
Lets not forget that whether you like it or not,
This is and always will be our country.

Your behind is messing up my mind...(a Spoken Word Poetry Video) #WordUpVol1

Nigeria's premier Spoken Word Poet,
Sage Hasson,
 was in town during
WORD UP Volume 1
(the biggest Spoken Word Poetry Event in Nigeria).

He was the last act of the day and made us understand why he is a master of the art.
He oozed so much class and style,
and
flowed with ease and skill.

If you are wondering on why and how I chose the title for this article, well, listen to the very last part of his act
and you won't be able to stop singing,
"your behind,...is messing with my mind....!!!!" :)
