Increase, the 13 year old poet, who dazzled us at #WordUpVol2 ...!!!!

What did you know when you were at age 13?
Did you know the meaning of REVOLUTION????
What did you do when you were age 13?
Did you ever get on stage in front of adults to speak out loud?????

Hmmmmm,
Increase, a 13 year old poet speaks words far wiser than his age,
shows the confidence even a 30 year old will struggle to show
and he dominates the stage like he was born on it.

Listen to this fiery 13 year old poet who is truly a gemstone show the stuff he is made of at WORD UP Volume 2.

Increase shows there is hope for the Nigerian youths, and indeed hope for Nigeria as a Nation.

King Olulu,

Well done. Word up was fantabulous. The little kid called increase has actually increased my interest in spoken word poetry. Never been to an event so rich in talent before. Torpedo was absolutely amazing and I like the fact that he didn't use a microphone, it shows that he's a natural on stage. "What do you wear" was stunning. I don't know what the name of the lady that delivered it is called but damn, she was good. I have the voice of Oyinkansola stuck in my head. Blessed is he who end up with her because to listen to that voice every morning will be heaven. Also, the lady that performed with Oyinkan is a great story teller and performer. The duo took me to a new level. I just have a few requests, Can I book 3 tickets in advance for the next show since we'll now have to pay (It's definitely worth paying for). Secondly, Can I order for the DVD in advance too, again 3 copies. Thirdly, Is it possible that we have all the poems performed on the word up website. And finally, could you keep me updated on spoken word events around Lagos especially if Oyinkansola and the rest of the people that left me in awe will be present.

Grey Project couldn't be part of this one but I'll sell Word up to her the next time I see her. It's definitely a project I think she'll like to be part of.

Have a great week and thanks for taking us all on a journey into WORDS.

Regards,

WORD UP (Spoken Word Poetry and Soul Music Event) Volume 2 comes up November 17, 2012

WORD UP
(Spoken Word Poetry and Soul Music Event).

The idea behind the event is to use Poetry as an Art for entertainment, tool to increase literacy level, and as a means of communication, education and information.

Our goal is to create a Performance Poetry and Spoken Word industry where people can earn a decent living as Performance Poets. A  Spoken Word Poetry industry will help reduce unemployment in the Country as awareness and sponsorship of the Art form increases.

This Art form would also improve the literacy level in Universities and Secondary Schools, and among the populace, as a good Poet needs to be able to read and write, and must also be intellectually sound to be able to pass the message inherent his/her poetry performances to the audience.

The maiden edition of WORD UP (Spoken Word Poetry and Soul Music Event) was held on August 18, 2012. It took place at the UNILAG Guest House Lecture Theatre, Akoka, Lagos, and it was a delightful success.

The next edition of our event, Word Up (a Spoken Word Poetry and Soul Music Event) is scheduled to take place on November 17, 2012 at the UNILAG Guest House Lecture Theatre, Akoka, Lagos.

If you wish to partner with us through sponsorship to showcase your products and services as we have the ability to deliver the following benefits:
